Find Your Plugin Stack In Five Minutes Or Less
With The Ultimate WordPress Recommendation Engine
Since releasing the beta version of WPLaunchify.com to the public, I have received a number of questions about what it is and whether it will be a source for positive change in the WordPress Community.
The short answer: WPLaunchify is intended as a way to organize all of the amazing software and services of WordPress into a self-discovery tool for any person or company wanting to use WordPress as a “platform”, similar to other SaaS platforms. But in the process to self-identify the particular plugins or services that match to their SPECIFIC self-identified needs.
TLDR answer:
In doing so, the final verson of WPLaunchify will:
1) Show not only the BEST choice for each feature, by way of the plugin or service that accomplishes the task, but ALSO show the ALTERNATIVE plugins or services… in a way that highlights their own unique benefits or differentiators. In other words, even though the beta is now limited in the results it shows…that is just becuase we use the Lean Startup method of putting out what we have an adding as we go.
WPLaunchify.com will be a service/tool of INCLUSION and INFORMATION and not exclusion (as some have suggested or feared)
2) Have a directory of plugins/services that are relevant to the person seeking information, but in a way that is focused on matching features to the individual needs, and thereby simplifying the process of how does one, for example, achieve a powerful membership site? Presently there is an enormous and confusing divide between starting and becoming an expert in WP, that shouldn’t need to continue…because it doesn’t exist on other SaaS platforms.
3) WPLaunchify and my team do NOT build websites! We do however offer EXPERT CONSULTANCY to individuals and companies who then hire their own team members to build the sites, or builld them on their own with our direction/guidance. Think of it like an architect or structural engineer… they are hired to help the building owner PLAN and STRATEGIZE about the plans and procedures, as well as the materials required and team required, to achieve the goal. As such, we will offer a Project/Consultancy Plan to anyone who uses the free service, as an option, for $100. This will be a personal interview with myself or my team members, to learn more about the client’s needs and business idea, and then deliver a customized report that outlines exactly what they need, the time, the cost, the differences of doing it oneself or with ongoing care.
In most cases, the person or company will use themeself or their own team they hire, perhaps even via service providers listed in WPLaunchify, to achieve the goal. WE will NOT build any sites…only consult during the construction to ensure that they are built properly and to contemporary standards by someone else.
4) WPLaunchify is NOT being paid by ANYONE who makes software or services for preferential treatment or attention. In fact, the opposite is true. We presentlly have almost no affiliate relationships or income, and even after we do add these links for affiliate payments to the listing directory, they will be all equal and democratic based on whichever plugin/service is the best match for a particular person or company’s needs. In other words, ANY plugin or service could be the “best” match for a person using our discovery and research tools… there is not going to be ONE, and never would there be a payment for such preferential treatment in any event.
5) WPLaunchify will use our marketing and production expertise to highlight FEATURES and BENEFITS of plugins and services but NOT do step by step “how to” tutorials. We feel there are already an abundance of amazingly creative people doing that (we used to do that ourself regularly). Instead, we will help to fix the problem that now exists of there being TOO MUCH INFO without understanding how it all fits together into a coherent solution, using WP as the platform.
IN SUM: We aim to make WPLaunchify.com a free service (with optional paid upsell to personal help starting at just $100) for anyone who is unclear about what amazing POTENTIAL exists in using WordPress as their software platform for any modern business.
In doing so, we aim to PROMOTE AND ELEVATE all the amazing folks and companies who contribute to WordPress and thereby DEMOCRATIZE the system, liberating it from the current state of confusion or uncertainty that keeps some from even believing that WordPress is the platform they should use.
