SEMrush vs AHREFS!! –a battle for the ages?? Not really. I get this question quite a bit, which tool should I choose? The fact is that both of them are awesome and I use them almost all the time.
In a short sound byte:
AHREFS is focused on backlink building, and getting you backlink data going back for years.
SEMrush is focused on keyword ranking information, they are the only/best tool with a huge database of saved keyword ranking information (for keywords with reported volume from Google) for most domains going back years.
Now both tools pretty much try to do it all. As is common these days, they have backlink information, keyword ranking information, and more. I dive into those idiosyncrasies in this video as well as some cool quirks of both.
